Our Commitment
Franchisee Training and Support
This is a vital part of the education process for our new Handyman of Australia Franchisees. This training is designed to get new Franchisees up and running in their business as quickly as possible.
The training includes one week of on-site work, where you’ll learn valuable lessons about scheduling your day, keeping track of appointments, managing time frames, customer service, and performing various trade jobs. You’ll also gain tips on planning ahead, such as collecting materials in advance for the next day to save time.
Then the second week involves face-to-face video chat discussions to help you set up your business and learn how to use the necessary software. Once everything is all set up and you feel confident, you are ready to start.
Training Overview
Our training covers the following topics:
BUSINESS PLANNING
One of the most important aspects of running a business is planning. It’s about knowing where you want to be and planning how to get there by understanding what’s involved. In this session, we provide the tools and techniques to start the business, including setting up separate bank accounts for tax and GST purposes, and cover the fundamental skills required to manage a business.
MARKETING & WORK GENERATION
Our Marketing Team is always developing and reviewing strategies to assist in creating more lead opportunities. We present these ideas to you and then get you started with creating your marketing plan so your Business will thrive for years to come.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Here, we delve into what we expect from you regarding our clients and the keys to an Excellent client experience. Handyman of Australia takes pride in the level of client service provided by our franchisees. It is one of the keys to our collective success since this is largely what sets us apart from other businesses.
QUOTING PROCESS
Providing an accurate Quote is one key to success. You will practise creating quotes for a wide range of jobs. We review these and discover many of the traps that can cause problems for the inexperienced operator, including how to maximise your profit.
You will learn how to use your Quoting and invoicing software to produce quotes and invoices and email these directly to your clients. The software’s CRM capabilities will allow you to follow up and manage this important part of your business with simple steps to know where every stage of each job is at.
All Admin, including Email, is included in setting you up.
PRACTICAL SKILLS
You will have the opportunity to demonstrate and practice your handyman skills under the guidance of our industry-qualified professional training Franchise manager. You will also have the opportunity to practice implementing the practical aspects of some of your prepared quotes and understand time frames.
WORK HEALTH & SAFETY (WHS)
Handyman of Australia prides itself on being compliant with WHS provisions for all trades, renovations, and maintenance services. We focus on the WHS matters that are part of a typical Franchisee’s day-to-day operations and highlight some of the risks and hazards they can confront. This is particularly valuable to people who have been off the tools for quite some time. It would help if you went home every day safely and uninjured.
From working with power tools in an environment where there are people and clients around to undertaking risk assessments when entering one of our commercial clients or major shopping centres, our WHS system will ensure that you are ready to start work safely for yourself and those around you.
POST-TRAINING
Once you’re fully operational, we’ll check in regularly to see if you need any help with running the business, admin, or trade work. Remember, assistance is just a phone call away; we’re always here to support you.
